Exfoliate, sugar scrub, have you have or come across it? This can be easy made, never the less you can still buy already made sugar scrub at the store. Take one portion sugar and mix it with extra virgin olive oil  in a jar until it gets to a uniformity you like. Some individuals like to add lemon energy to give it an awesome perfume or others like to add honey for its treatment qualities. Use it after your epidermis has been immersing in the bath for a few moments. When you are through rubbing it on your body kindly use wash it off and then use something to effectively clean the oil off your skin.

Secondly Moisturize your body with Virgin Coconut Oil, or your favorite moisturizer, that is any lotion that is made for dry skin, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and AmLactin XL Lotion, has a good review from Keratosis Pilaris sufferers, try it out if you have not.

The essential thing in dealing with keratosis pilaris is to make softer the keratin remains in the skin. Keeping the keratin smooth and exfoliation the afflicted places will help keep hair roots from becoming connected with keratin.
Before going any further on discussing Self care measures for Keratosis Pilaris, it is important that I point out that If your keratosis pilaris is more severe, there are prescription medications that can help.

Below are some the Self care measures that you should take note off.

Implement an over-the-counter cream with lactic acidity (AmLactin 12%). A lactic acidity cream will make softer keratin, clean scalp and provide moisturization. Lactic acidity is a normally sourced humectant for the epidermis.

Use a warm air humidifier if the air at home is dry. Rub creams to your epidermis while the epidermis is still wet from showering.

Don't over clean the troublesome places. This can worsen the situation and make the lumps more intense. Don’t over dry your epidermis after showering. Pat dry and allow wetness to stay.

What is Keratosis Pilaris

I was reading through a book today and I came across the word Keratosis pilaris and I thought it wise I discuss it on my post today. I know you may be wondering what this, not to worry, is I will explain what it is all about in a while.

Keratosis pilaris also known as “chicken skin” it is an inherited follicular problem recognized by little difficult lumps on the epidermis. It usually happens on the back and external side of the higher arms, it can also appear on the hip and legs, butt or flanks. It may not be a harmful skin disease but it is affecting an approximated 50% or more of the mature population.

Keratosis pilaris happens when a locks string becomes connected with unwanted keratin, which is a natural proteins in the epidermis. These connected hair follicles outcome in small red lumps and/or difficult areas sometimes becoming infected and annoyed in the more serious situations. KP is not pimples even though it looks very similar. Pimples are a consequence of oils (oil) preventing the skin pores not keratin. Keratosis pilaris is also different from pimples in that is can be more intense in people with more dry epidermis or in a chillier, more dry atmosphere. Kp lumps can avoid the locks from increasing out of the impacted string leading to an in-grown locks.

keratosis pilaris comes in three different varieties:

Keratosis pilaris alba - lumps without the swelling or discomfort (most common)

Keratosis pilaris rubra - a more red and infected type

Keratosis pilaris rubra faceii - a red allergy on the cheeks

On my next post I will discussing on self care measure that will be helpful in treating Keratosis pilaris
